Tropical Storm Bill

It's been a wet and windy day. Tropical Storm Bill has been passing through for the last few hours and the worst is over, although it'll probably rain a lot over the next week. The typical things are happening. Several houses and cars have flooded. A couple of my friends are without electricity tonight. I almost feel guilty as even our satellite TV still works, which usually has problems with merely a heavy cloud cover.

Two Garage Sales and Two Movies

I was slow getting up today; I slept for a little while after breakfast. After I finally managed to get up, I and my mom went to a couple of garage sales. I got a great deal on a new phone for my desk. I spent most of the evening in front of the TV. Things were quiet at home, as my parents went across the lake to see one of my dad's high school friends.

The Mall, The Movies, and the Mexican Resturant

I went out for the evening with a sizeable group of friends. After loitering in the mall for a while, we went to the movies and saw “The Italian Job.” It was a decent movie and I wasn't disappointed. Afterward we walked over to Chevy's for a late dinner. I wasn't hungry so I just had a couple of drinks. Between a good movie and better company, I enjoyed myself.

Fixing Laptop

I spent the better part of the afternoon fixing my dad's work laptop, which needed a new hard drive after being dropped. I was confused for a short while as the new drive did not fit. Unfortunately, I was unable to recover anything from the old drive, which contained several important documents.

The Matrix and Some Company

I had some friends over to the house today. I had originally invited one person over to see “The Matrix” for the first time, but two others wanted to come and that was fine. I lost a game of chess, probably because the movie was distracting. We played a trivia board game for a while afterwards. Aside from a couple broken glasses, the afternoon went smoothly.

Chess, Monopoly, and a Russian Flick

I spent most of the day at a friends house goofing off. I won a few games of chess and lost miserably at Monopoly. This friend speaks fluent russian and he showed us a movie in that language, translating throughout. The movie wasn't bad and I have to credit the translating, which was doubtlessly tiring.

Sudden Inspiration

I spent the afternoon sitting in Taco Bell with some friends. The evening was without incident aside from some weird inspiration. I was watching TV and had a vision, version 7 of this website. It usually takes me weeks to come up with a viable design but I thought up this site instantly. It won't be out for a while though, i'm in no hurry.

Slow Sunday

Having got no sleep last night, I spend half the day in bed. When I finally did get up, I didn’t do much aside from some chores and laundry. I can’t really think of anything else to say. In the coming week, this site should see some updating. I am also starting to think about version 7 of this site.

Walking, Walking, and More Walking

On Saturday I and some friends spent some time walking around the quarter to pass the time and say goodbye to a friend, with whom I’ve been acquainted for five years. Saying goodbye was bittersweet. She is very special to me and I will miss her dearly, but I know she will be happy, and that is comforting.

Nothing Happening

I haven't posted int the last few days… mainly becuase there has been nothing to post about. The days have past without incident. I've been brushing up on my chess game, which sucks, on the computer. Today my friend dropped by to pick up the one pet still alive, a rat named Diego. Luckily she didn't seem too attached to the fish, which died last week.

Father’s Day

We got a grill for my dad so we went spent the afternoon at the park to try it out. It worked rather well and I think he liked it. Sadly, all of the fish I was watching for a friend have died. Two died Friday and the other two died today. Given my ‘favorable bias’ towards the owner, this is rather disheartening. I suspect the unusually warm temperature in my house led to their demise.

Dinner at Grandma’s

After church, I muddled around the house for a while. A friend stopped by to drop off her rat and some fish, which I’ll be taking care of for 2 weeks. I spent the evening at my grandma’s house. The food was excellent as always. We watched a movie after, a standard-issue romantic comedy. I’m proud to say I was maintained consciousness throughout.

Superfair

In an odd coincidence, I went to a gathering of spinning devices for a 2nd day in a row. Superfair is basically a glorified church fair in the largest domed stadium on Earth. We arrived a few hours early so we went to the mall for a while. Wanering through the mall with a bunch of girls isn’t the most fun thing I can think of but the fair was just fine.

Six Flags

Today I went to Six Flags New Orleans with an old friend and one of her friends. I was my first visit to a theme park in several years and my first time riding a roller-coaster, which was a unique experience to say the least. I held up alot better than I expected. Aside from the heavy feeling on my chest, it was rather fun. Concerning rides, it seems the only thing that really bothers me is being upside down for long periods. The only problem today was riding the pseudo-wodden coaster. My harness wasn’t tight enough and I got knocked around quite a bit, which made my back hurt for the rest of the day.
